Multi-colour swap top...

It's half term! Yay!! Time to make yet another attempt at the ever growing to-do list... Gardening, spring cleaning, homework... and finish all those knitting projects that just don't seem to want to finish themselves!

I've spent the past week in a bit of a quandary over the multi-colour (fake Noro) yarn, and while I tried to make up my mind I returned to my recycle-balls projects, pulling one large jumper to pieces in preparation for another Haiku knit, and spending this week's visit to my dad's on the brown Phildar jumper - one more sleeve and the neck lining to go; I may actually make it with wool to spare! I made a decision when I returned this evening that the pattern I'd chosen for 'fake Noro' would require more of the stripes than I'd originally anticipated, so after some unpicking since the above photo was taken, I've returned to an earlier idea of using the colours for a far smaller part of a far smaller, still Vogue, knit... Too much queue jumping going on!!

One week to knit them all and by the weekend bind off...

There's probably more chance of Sauron becoming the next President of Egypt...

Saturday morning mentions

:(
We were promised sun today, and so far no sun, nor even a patch of blue sky, has appeared, so I'm refusing to get dressed and do anything useful until it does...

:)
Despite moaning yesterday about how boring I find stocking stitch these days, I was quite happy to finish my 25 rows off in bed this morning - but I think that had more to do with the wool - Yarnmagic, a.k.a. fake Noro:

I do get childishly excited when the colour alters, and then instantly impatient for the next change...

;)
I would never actually buy anything from Boden - they're well out of my price range - but I do always appreciate it when the latest catalogue arrives; I find the print patterns and colour schemes quite inspiring and am already planning some knits based on last seasons designs...

:D
This morning, in my dressing gown, I finally discovered the free pattern collection on the Rowan site - how have I not found this before?? There's even a scarf pattern I could consider for when I finally get around to starting on my brother-in-law's promised one...

Naughty nought

Very little knitting feels like it's been done this week. It seemed to take forever to knit one sleeve - a sleeve that's only half-length! I think that's because it was a bit of a boring knit so I kept giving up and going to bed instead. Aside from occasionally having to remember to reduce stitches on one or both sides, nothing much of interest happened except knit and purl stocking stitch. I don't know why I find that so boring and slow these days, but I do. Still, one down:

one to go (yawn), and then I can challenge myself with some crochet - the ultimate challenge since I still have no real idea how to crochet and have yet to discover what 'dc' means...

I've finally started on the fake Noro wool with another Vogue knitting pattern that may or may not work. I've also treated myself to two new knitting books (as if I needed them), as they were selling cheaply secondhand on Amazon, although I do think one person's idea of 'good condition' is another person's 'torn at the edge', but the patterns are all still there:

Naught Needles was a little more risque in places than even I expected, although pretty tame for the erotically minded. Plenty of new ideas in both for when I can finally get around to finishing the current projects list and buying some more cheap wool... Strait-jacket and ball gag, anyone...?

Lime Scale

A really good weekend's football, despite losing. Managed to get an awful lot of green knitted:

I think purchasing the extra ball of Lime was a good call. Even if I do manage to get the sleeves made out of the remainder of the second ball, I don't think I'll quite have enough for the crochet work. Unfortunately, this pattern was an absolute nightmare to follow while decreasing the sides, so there are plenty of errors. As usual, this looks nothing like how it's meant to. All knits by me are apparently total originals... ;)

Got back...

The back of 'crop' jumper number 2 is finished:

Only a few mistakes here and there. Unfortunately, I may be short by 100 grams of lime, but I can't be sure until I get half way through the front. Do I risk it or buy another ball tomorrow...?

Nothing else happening except sleep, housework and a lot of TV. I love the weekend.
